About the author

Jane Palash Author of A Juvenile Country

Born in Kyiv in 1991, on the year of the fall of the Soviet Union, Jane spent her life trying to reconcile her love for writing with a newborn Ukrainian society that won't buy books about queer teens. She did her Master's on gay fanfiction at the Central European University and considered that her best accomplishment up until the pandemic of 2020.

Caught in a lockdown as a new immigrant in Toronto, she found joy in telling stories about the post-soviet generation and was glad to see that the English-speaking audience is more welcoming of love in all its ways. She cherishes a dream to have the book translated into Ukrainian and Russian and published in her home country. Out of spite.
